Hi all! I am the owner of a WSA1 keyboard, and I am trying to use it with a DAW (in this case, Ableton live). My only frustration so far is the inability to change program in the combi mode. I have managed to change program (i.e. patch) in the sound mode. I do not succeed in 1) switching from sound to combi mode with a MIDI message, and 2) change the actual combi program.

Bank changes do not seem to work in combi mode, and sending a patch change simply changes the sound responding to the MIDI channel where the message was sent. I have read the technical guides downloaded from this site, but to no avail.

What I want to achieve is to send bank + patch changes so that I can switch from one combi to another when I switch songs in the DAW.

Anyone has had success with bank switching?

I'm guessing from the silence that nobody has an answer to your question. I don't either, sorry. I don't really use Combination Mode.

Re: Changing program in combi mode

Hi all,

I have found a way to make program change work in combi mode and I am going to share it in the hopes it is useful for other folks.
The MIDI mode configuration is key (menu > MIDI > total mode). Midi input mode must be set to "single", single program change must be set to "combi", and single channel to "1".
The synth will then play all parts when MIDI data is sent on the "single channel". In order to separately play the individual parts on separated MID channel, I send program change on channel 1, and use MIDI channels starting from 2 to play individual parts! Of course this reduces the number of available parts to seven, but I think it's a small limitation
