Re: Computer-based WSA-editors

Ooh! Frankly, anything is welcome! I could use Sheepshaver or Rosetta on my old G5 tower to run old versions of SoundDiver, Galaxy and Unisyn, but the gentleman in me says that I shouldn’t… also - faffing around with old Windows just to be cute and run 16…

Re: Hello everyone

Hi Geoff,

I will hopefully be in a position to read the wave ROMs from the WSA1 within the next month or so. I am just finalising the pin connections to add a connector to my WSA1 so I can access the ROMs. I’ll let you know when I have managed to read …

Re: Computer-based WSA-editors

An editor and librarian will be available soon. I have been testing it with my WSA1 and WSA1R and gradually ironing out the bugs. The Sysex implementation on the WSA1 is not good which makes it very difficult, but it is progressing and should be available…

Re: Spare parts and hardware hacking

Hi,

I have been doing exactly the same. I have some PCBs manufactured already and am waiting for some parts to arrive for my prototype Output expansion. If it all works successfully then I will have a batch of them made, maybe 50.

I also have the c…

Spare parts and hardware hacking

Hi all,

I browsed through the schematics and started to slowly recreate the expansion board. My WSA1R has both the wave expansion and the extra outputs. Please know that the PCM1702 DAC for the extra analog outputs is hard to get, the SPDIF is still po…

Hello everyone

Hi,

Just an short introduction, I've owned a WSA-1 since it came out, still use it every day, although mainly as a controller now. Used to run a website for it back in the day, and still have a few files etc. Will see if the ones here are the same.

Howdy

I recently found out about the WSA1 and couldn't wait till I got one.
I used to be more of a Korg guy but these days I've been seeking oddball synths from various brands. The WSA1, having no relatives, quite fits the bill. I'm especially interested in ex…

Re: Computer-based WSA-editors

Ok, guy, I give up. WSA's MIDI comm is so buggy, that it is not possible to make a librarian for those devices. For example, some of the registers cannot be written, or do not accept the 4+4 bit formatted values over 127. Also, sending a single sound onto…

My WSA1R has been neglected for a while, but I'll get back to it eventually. I've been teaching classes…
