Re: Suitable LCD Display Replacement or Repair for WSA1 ??

Hi Kiolbo - hope you are fine. Great post smiling , thanks for a useful post from my previous (quite old now!) queries.

Only 'issue' I see is that the Pin7 states "NC: Not Connected" on the new LCD, whereas the Technics Service schematic shows "-22v" as …

Re: Suitable LCD Display Replacement or Repair for WSA1 ??

Hello,

Still no news about a possible LCD replacement for you WSA ?

Have someone looked at or tried the HLM8619 or 8620 for example as an alternative (same PIN numbers 14) ?

Alternative display specifications sheet and WSA1 pinouts details from t…

Re: Changing program in combi mode

Hi all,

I have found a way to make program change work in combi mode and I am going to share it in the hopes it is useful for other folks.
The MIDI mode configuration is key (menu > MIDI > total mode). Midi input mode must be set to "single", single p…

I'm guessing from the silence that nobody has an answer to your question. I don't either, sorry. I don't really use Combination Mode.

Changing program in combi mode

Hi all! I am the owner of a WSA1 keyboard, and I am trying to use it with a DAW (in this case, Ableton live). My only frustration so far is the inability to change program in the combi mode. I have managed to change program (i.e. patch) in the sound mode.…

Re: WSA1 Article - Spectrum Analysis of the Resonators

Hi John, Yes I agree, the Drivers are analogous to the Tones on the KN's. Haven't ever really used a KN7000 though, I've just read through the manual.

FM is an interesting topic, I wrote a programming guide last year for the Yamaha FM synths which …

Re: WSA1 Article - Spectrum Analysis of the Resonators

Hi Javelin276, As you are aware my main field of expertise is in sound editing with the KN and organ ranges so the article (you shared the link) is most interesting and informative and unless I have missed it the reference to Drivers as comparable to the …

WSA1 Article - Spectrum Analysis of the Resonators

Hi Guys,
I just posted an article on my website detailing the Modeling section of the synth, with an emphasis on the Resonator settings.
I've used a spectrum analyzer to see what is actually going on inside the section to determine how it works.
I just…

Hello all,
Is there a way to know the actual rom version of the synth ? Maybe a combination of touch at startup ?

Re: PC Editor

Excellent! Glad to hear it.
Any ideas on what the initial sysex block they loaded in is for?
I'm guessing the block loads in data to reset the machine and loads in a custom setup at the same time.
I didn't see a reset command anywhere in the mid…
